Planning a new app?

Mobile app takeover

Your abandoned app, taken over where it stands.

Developer gone, code nowhere to be found, updates rejected by the stores. We take over your iOS and Android app, bring it back into line and republish it.

This is for you if

  • Your developer has stopped replying.
  • Nobody knows where the code is.
  • Apple or Google reject your updates.
  • Your latest reviews give one or two stars.

Our team has worked for

  • Carrefour
  • Brut.
  • AlloCiné
  • Webedia
  • Crédit Agricole CIB

Where you might be

Taking over an abandoned app. We start from what you have.

  1. 01

    The developer disappeared

A freelancer who no longer answers, an agency that closed. The store link, your invoices and old emails are enough to start.

  2. 02

    The source code is missing

We look for it before calling it lost. If it cannot be found, the options are further down.

  3. 03

Removed from the App Store or Google Play

We read the reason Apple or Google gave, fix the cause and submit a new version.

  4. 04

A mandatory iOS or Android update

The stores reject builds made with outdated tools. We bring the app up to date.

  5. 05

Accounts in the old developer’s name

Apple and Google let an app move to your own account, with the current holder’s consent. We prepare the request with you.

  6. 06

Nobody left to fix a bug

We reproduce the bug, fix it and ship the fix on both stores.

The diagnostic

A diagnostic from your public store link. No access to your code needed.

It recommends a few fixes, a repair, a rebuild or retiring the app.

  • Your reviews grouped by most common complaint.
  • The Apple and Google rules that apply.
  • A written recommendation, retirement included.

Mandatory updates

The updates Apple and Google require. Two deadlines have already passed.

  1. 28 April 2026

    Xcode 26 required by Apple

Without this upgrade, Apple rejects any new version of your app.

  2. 31 August 2026

    Android 16 on Google Play

Without this upgrade, Google Play rejects your updates.

How a takeover works

Audit, upgrade, then maintenance.

You decide on the next step after each one.

Offer 1

Takeover audit

To find out what can be recovered.

  • A review of the code, servers and connected services.
  • Who holds the Apple and Google accounts, signing keys, domain and hosting.
  • Whether the app can still be published.

A costed recommendation.

Offer 2

Upgrade

To bring the app back into line and fix what is blocking.

  • Recovering the accounts and signing keys, if needed.
  • Upgrade to the versions Apple and Google require.
  • The most common bugs and complaints fixed first.
  • Release on both stores.

A new version submitted to Apple and Google.

Offer 3

Maintenance

To stay compliant, year after year.

  • The updates the stores require.
  • Reviews sorted by AI, replies approved by you.
  • Time each month for improvements.

An app kept up to date.

Getting started

What we ask you for. Incomplete is fine.

Gather what you have. Whatever is missing, we look for during the audit.

For the review diagnostic, the store link is enough.

Useful if you have it

  • The App Store or Google Play link.
  • Your Apple Developer and Google Play Console access.
  • The domain name and the account it is registered with.
  • Hosting details: servers, database, online services.
  • The source code, or the last place it was kept.
  • The contract and invoices from the previous developer.

Recover the source code

If the source code is lost. Three options, weighed with you.

None is certain in advance. The audit tells you which one holds.

01

Find it

Code repositories, hosting accounts, backups, a written request to the previous developer. Your contract may require them to hand it over.

02

Start from the published app

Its screens, content and servers show what it does. They become the specification.

03

Rebuild it

We cost a new version. Keeping the same store listing, reviews included, depends on access to the account that publishes it.

FAQ

Your questions before you call.

Our developer has disappeared. Can you take over the app?

Yes, depending on what can be recovered. We first check who holds the Apple and Google accounts, the signing keys and the code.

How do we recover our app’s source code?

Check your contract, your emails and your hosting accounts. Otherwise we ask the previous developer for it in writing, with you. If it turns into a dispute, a lawyer will advise you better than we can.

Our app was removed from the App Store or Google Play. Can it come back?

That depends on the reason Apple or Google gave and on access to the account that publishes it. Send us the message you received and we will tell you what needs fixing.

The Apple and Google accounts are in the old developer’s name. What now?

Apple and Google let you transfer an app to another account, with the current holder’s consent. Without it, the app may have to start again under a new listing, without its reviews.

Apple or Google rejected our update. Why?

The rejection message gives the reason. A common one is an app built with tools older than this year’s requirements.

Do we have to rebuild everything?

Not necessarily. We repair before we suggest rebuilding, and the audit tells you what can be kept.

Who will own the code and the accounts?

You will. The code, the accounts and the domain name stay in your name, and the contract assigns the rights to you.

What if the app can’t be taken over?

We tell you at the audit, before any further spending, with what blocks it and the options left.

How much does a takeover cost?

It depends on the state of the app. An audit of a few days sets the price of the next step, before you commit to anything.

Do you charge for the review diagnostic?

No. The first call and the diagnostic of your reviews are free.
